McMichael Canadian Art Collection - 10365 Islington Avenue, Kleinburg
Explore different ways of viewing nature as captured by four members of the Group of Seven. This exhibition presents two dramatically different visions of nature as seen in the works of Lawren Harris and Franklin Carmichael – Overland – and the intimate/claustrophobic observations of J.E.H. MacDonald and Arthur Lismer – Underfoot. The show also includes works by students from two area high schools. Also on display, Images of the Northwest Coast and Terra (In) Cognita, two thought-provoking shows from the ReVisions series of exhibitions based on the permanent collection. Tree Spirit: The Woodcuts of Naoko Matsubara

Naoko Matsubara, an important contemporary woodcut artist whose work has been exhibited widely in international galleries and museums, donated 177 of her prints to the ROM in 1998.
